Fitbit users may be disclosing sex life on Google

The Next Web blog said some users of the device made by San Francisco-based Fitbit Inc. are manually adding details of their activity but may not be aware that the information is searchable online unless they adjust their preferences to keep their profile information private.

TechCrunch reports that Fitbit’s default privacy setting allows profiles to be found in search results. It included this link showing the types of results in question.

The Fitbit Tracker clips onto clothing or slips into a pocket and uses accelerometer technology to gather information about daily health activities.

The sexual information is coming from a feature that lets users also keep track of nutrition, weight and additional activities.
