It now offers brachytherapy, a treatment where radioactive “seeds” are implanted permanently into the prostate. The outpatient procedure is less invasive than traditional treatments, which could help lower health care costs.

The Dr. P. Phillips location expects to see about 20 patients a year. “We decided to offer this service at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital for patient convenience,” Brown said.
